Proving Your Public Participation Chops

If you’ve worked in public engagement for a while, you should seriously consider the process of becoming an International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) Certified Public Participation Practitioner (CP3) or even a Master Certified Public Participation Practitioner (MCP3). My partner, Doug Sarno, and I were two of the first three guinea pigs to complete this process and earn our MCP3s, and our two accomplices, Wendy Greene Lowe and Debra Duerr, have been leaders in creating and developing the program for IAP2.

The next Certification Assessment Center (AC) will be held June 5th and 6th, 2020, and the deadline to apply is January 31, 2020. Speaking from experience, the application can be lengthy and take longer than first expected. (On average it usually takes around 40 hours.) So while it may seem that the deadline is far away, it will arrive before you know it!

I really hope you’ll join us and start the process to become a CP3 or MCP3. You should find everything you need to know by visiting the website, where you’ll find the Information Kit, Application and Frequently Asked Questions. If you have any questions about the program or our experience, please contact me, Wendy, Debra or Doug.
