More Power to Ya

There are lots of textbook causes for conflict, but one of the root reasons that I run into has to do with some kind of power imbalance. People will almost always rebel (or try to) if they feel they’re being oppressed by people with more power. The art and science of politics is about finding or creating some kind of balance in power or some equitable compensation to the less powerful party in that conflict. The public is almost always – or believe themselves to be – on the losing side of the power scale when dealing with a government agency or some other big institution. Some food for thought.
