Another Case for Public Engagement

Right now, being a citizen in the U.S. feels unsettling, daunting and frustrating for people who follow the state of politics. Participating in the affairs of government seems like the last thing people might want to do. But put that in perspective: there are 500,000 elected officials in the U.S., only 537 serve at the federal level. The old phrase all politics is local is as true now as ever and the best place for people to make a difference and influence governance and politics is right there in their own backyards. It’s where and how great communities are created. Help them create it.
