I pledged, in the opening paragraph of this little blog, not to debate politics and that’s not what I hope you focus on in this story from The New Yorker. Politicking and policy is inevitably about communicating and how any side of the aisle crafts and delivers overall messages and creates perceptions.
There are recent lessons to be learned for all of us working with both the public and private sectors in developing and delivering messages that people will believe. When more than half of the adult population reads below a 6th grade level, know the importance of something called ambient information.
